ECOM VTEX-2000U is a compact video data downlink system designed for live data transmission from unmanned electro-optical video surveillance aircraft. A transmitter takes the video from onboard cameras on the aircraft and data from onboard sensors like GPS, compass and altimeter and transmits this as a data + video signal to be received at base receiving stations, located at the mission control. Systems are designed for varying applications. The simpler tactical systems have a range of 10~12 kilometers where as elaborate high gain tracking antennas are available for longer range applications of up to 120 kilometers. |
