Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) broadcasts contain essential information on such things as weather, active runway and selected terminal areas. This continuous broadcast of recorded information helps to improve controller efficiency and relieves frequency congestion by automating repetitive transmissions of essential routine information.
ECOM brings you ATIS-VT, a state of the art micro controller based ATIS radio. The unit is designed to transmit automated ATIS information digitally in a preset manner. It has been designed to replace the old magnetic tape recorder play back systems presently used by most airports in the world. ATIS-VT takes advantage of developments in digital electronics to broadcast automated weather and airport information on any prescribed frequency in the 118 ~ 136.975 MHz aviation band. 60 seconds of digital information stored in 16 separate message banks is broadcasted automatically at desired time intervals. The ATIS-VT Eliminates need for aircrew to manually copy voice ATIS messages and provides high message accuracy and reliability which frees up aircrew during critical flight phases.
